Volunteer Physician Award

About the Award
The Harold E. Williamson Award honors a physician for volunteer medical services and contributions to the community. We specifically look to recognize those individuals who unassumingly volunteer outside the spectrum of their day-to-day lives.

The award was established by the COPIC Medical Foundation in remembrance of Harold E. “Hal” Williamson. Hal was one of the first non-physician board members of the COPIC Trust, and his encouragement and active participation led to the establishment of the COPIC Medical Foundation.

Two awards are given annually to one Colorado physician and one Nebraska physician. The award provides a $10,000 donation from the COPIC Medical Foundation to a 501(c)(3) organization to fund ongoing efforts to deliever and/or improve health care of the recipient’s choice. The Foundation’s grants committee reviews all nominations and selects a recipient.
