Funding Guidelines and Program Information

Organizations seeking funding must qualify as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

COPIC Medical Foundation does not fund:

  • Organizations whose primary impact is outside Colorado or Nebraska
  • Political organizations, campaigns, and lobbying efforts
  • Religious organizations
  • Endowment campaigns
  • Societies and fraternal organizations
  • Telephone solicitation
  • Projects that benefit only individual applicants or that serve a limited audience
  • Organizations requiring ongoing support for general operating costs
  • Construction, expansion, and repair of facilities
  • Capital campaigns

These restrictions are provided as general guidelines. The Foundation prefers not to be an organization's sole source of financial support.

Additional Considerations

  • COPIC Medical Foundation presently makes grants only to organizations that qualify as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Organizations outside of Colorado or Nebraska and organizations that do not qualify as exempt should not seek funding from COPIC Medical Foundation.
  • The COPIC Medical Foundation will accept grant applications from 501(c)(3) organizations involved in patient safety and quality improvement programs; health care provider education; recruitment and retention of providers; and increasing access or the provision of direct medical services.
