COPIC is currently hiring for the following positions:
Assistant Underwriter:
The Assistant position is responsible for performing all customer support functions in relation to renewal business, supporting Underwriter(s) with new business, and changes to existing policies. In this regard, the incumbent performs duties which include, but are not limited to the following:
·         Preparing, coordinating and issuing new and renewal policies
·         Processing policy endorsements
·         Completing the Policy Renewal Worksheet on all renewing accounts
Handling correspondence relating to locum tenens and slot accounts and any correspondence as directed by the Underwriter
·         Assisting Underwriter in monitoring accounts for past due activity
·         Maintaining electronic policy files including printing into, labeling and organizing all file documents
·         Having a good understanding of all facets of ecopic in order to provide support to insureds and third party certificate holders as necessary
·         Understanding of data entry and scanning procedures, credentialing issuance and certificate issuance policies
·         Answering phones and providing support for the Policyholder Maintenance & Credentialing hot lines
·         Testing rates annually; testing software upgrades and database changes as required by IT
·         Special projects as assigned by the Director of Underwriting or Underwriting Manager
The successful candidate will have 1-2 years of data entry and customer service experience; good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, ImageRight, QAS; ability to learn new computer systems; ten-key; insurance or medical related background desired; good mathematical skills; some college coursework is preferred.

Underwriting Technician:
The Technician position is responsible for general clerical duties for underwriting staff which include, but are not limited to the following:
·         Sorting and routing of mail and faxes daily
·         Data entry of endorsements
·         Document handling, storage and routing
·         Preparation and mailing of renewal applications
·         Miscellaneous mailings
·         Customer support
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma. Good telephone etiquette. Demonstrated accuracy of scanning procedures. Demonstrated skills with databases, intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Good people skills and strong organizational skills. Willingness and ability to learn additional computer skills.
